What career advice would you give your younger-self before deciding what to do in life?

These are the responses that I often get. Would any of these feel right to you too?

… “ Do what you love to do, something that makes you happy when you wake-up!”

… “ Try few jobs before you find your way.”

… “ Follow your dream.”

… ” There are other options you could consider.”

… “ Believe in yourself and go for it.”

… “ Do things that come naturally to you.”

… “ Pursue a career in what you really find interesting.”

Now, I’m asking you this – Because it’s NOT too late.

You are still alive and enriched with your previous experiences. You can change. You can build a new life.

Because in life, there are only 2 pains:

Pain of discipline, meaning identifying your goals and then working consistently with tenacity and passion towards them. It might mean waking up earlier and staying a bit longer at night or even using a few hours on the weekend – to learn and practice new skills.

OR

Pain of regret later in life of not doing this thing _ so dear to your heart. This regret of  “I wish I’d had a courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” -it’s the highest ranked top regret by dying people and it’s something you don’t want. I wrote about this and the other top 4 regrets in this blog post.

Start small – maybe with a little side project, a class, a book, a conversation… a little step ahead with a good intention.

I promise you, you won’t regret.

With so much love,

Lena
