Why I Decided To Give Back To Support Children’s Education
I’m SO SUPER EXCITED to share this news with you. I’ve been dreaming about it for a really long time.
But let me give you a bit of background first. Like you, I’m a strong believer in education.
Education is the future. Education is power. Education changes the world.
Thanks to the Internet and new technology, the access to education is much more accessible today. However, there are still countries and communities in the world – where these valuable resources don’t reach and they’re still millions of children lacking basic reading, writing and math skills.
It was 3 years ago when I learnt about the amazing work of Pencils of Promise, for-purpose organization that dedicates 100% of donations to building schools, training teachers and supporting water and health programs across Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Adam Braun, its founder started Pencils of Promise with only 25 $ and blended non-profit idealism with for profit business principles. You can learn more about this journey in his inspiring book “The Promise Of A Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change”. It’s been truly transformational to me.
In my heart, it made me feel re-connected to my previous work on developmental and educational projects at the United Nations and the European Commission. Helping others to achieve their potential and dreams have been at the core of my life purpose.
That’s why, I decided to give back a portion of my company’s income to support building schools and training teachers in Guatemala facilitated by Pencils of Promise. When you decide to work with me on your self-discovery and career change, you’ll be making a concrete difference beyond yourself.
I hope it’s just the beginning of a new journey as I want to continue supporting Pencils of Promise and other human-centred causes that you and I believe in.
