Every holiday season offers a moment of reflection on your life, work, health, friendships, and dreams.

What I like about Easter is eating eggs (I love proteins!) and taking some time to think about what I’m grateful for.

I know it may sound cliché…Yep, gratitude…bla bla bla, whatever.

BUT, I think you agree with me that when you run from meeting to meeting every day, working hard on your “to do list” and generally “staying busy” all day long – it’s easy to take lots of great things in your life for granted, right?

In his must read book, Gratitude Works! Robert Emmons, the world’s leading gratitude researcher, offers a science-based prescription for transforming your life personally and professionally through the power of gratitude.

Gratitude is important not only because it helps us feel good, but also because it inspires us to do good.

That’s why, what I’d like to recommend you (which made me more happy than ever before ) is to start journaling on people and things you’re truly grateful for. This exercise will meaningfully transform and open new doors in your life.

The secret is to be specific. Forget about writing down these generalities alone:

I’m grateful for my parents

I’m grateful for my friends

I’m grateful for where I’m in my life, etc.

Choose one person or one thing and write down 3-5 detailed reasons you’re thankful for, for instance:

1) I’m grateful for my fiance Marco who makes me a kinder and more forgiving person every day.

2) I’m grateful for Marco who believes in me even if I have sometimes hard moments in believing in myself.

3) I’m grateful for Marco who prepares for me the most amazing scrambled eggs for breakfast, even if it means waking up very early.

…Yes, I do love you so much, Marco! 🙂

Now, I’d love to hear from you:

  1. Who or what are you really grateful for?
  2. Share with me at least 3 detailed reasons.

Let me know in the comments below.

With love and gratitude,

Lena
