Just got back from a much needed trip filled with Art Deco exhibitions, long inspiring walks in historic monasteries and culinary experiences.

No emails read, except the one from CreativeMornings/Brussels titled: Slow down to speed up.

It really hit home for me. I read it a few times: S L O W  D O W N ? to SpeedUP ?… – Powerful, right?

It was about taking a few months break in order to “cook something new” and come back fresher, stronger, and more focused.

For any driven, type A person who works hard and loves engaging with people and ideas, especially on social – taking some time off from these daily habits doesn’t always come easy. Guilt or FOMO (fear of missing out) often kicks in.

However, no matter how creative you are – there will be moments and times in your business and life when what you truly need is some space, some white space.

It doesn’t have to be very long. You can start with a re-charging weekend or a quiet lunchtime, anything that feels good to you.

It can take different shapes and forms, for example:

  • Unplugging from online and plugging into your real life

  • Embracing moments of stillness or meditation

  • Getting closer to nature

  • Submerging yourself in art: poetry, movies, novels, etc.

Give yourself the space, white space.

With love and positive energy,

Lena
