Have you ever thought about aligning your yearly plans and goals with the four seasons?

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks researching this topic, as I noticed that my energy was going down towards the end of last year and I was more in a dreaming rather than doing mode.

Sometimes for doers like you and I, it’s hard to accept that in order to speed up, we first need to slow down.

So the next time, when you feel less focused and more dreamy – Remember about these natural seasonal rhythms. It will help you gain a fresh perspective and plan your personal and professional endeavours more effectively during the year.

Winter:  It’s the time of restoration, processing ideas and connecting with people. Giving yourself a warm hug and having a quality and dreamy, introspective time. Like with nature, sleep is the main theme for the season where you experience a higher level of melatonin hormone.

Spring:  In this season as the days are getting longer, we humans are driven by dopamine hormone and we can take a bigger volume of projects. You feel more vitalised, focused, action oriented. Motivation and growth are dominant in spring.

Summer:  It’s the time for your expansion, opening, progress and productivity. In summer, you’re very active travelling and meeting new people. The dominant hormone that you experience is adrenaline.

Fall: In this season after all that “go go go” and hustle, you celebrate harvesting and naturally need to set new boundaries in your business and life. It’s a gratitude period, time for rest, renewal, and letting go of things that you don’t need any more.

So this is what I figure: in winter – heal, plan, go deeper inside you  – so the higher and brighter you will get when the spring and summer arrive.

Now, I’d love to hear from you.

  1. Have you been aligning your career, business, and personal projects with the seasons?

  2. What’s  your key takeaway from this seasonal review?

Let me know in the comments below.

With love and appreciation,
